PAIKEA SHAWL by AROHA KNITS

Paikea Shawl is a top-down crescent shawl pattern that was directly inspired by the legend of Paikea, the demi-god who rode a whale to Aotearoa.

Featuring simple eyelet garter stitch and seafoam stitch, Francoise Danoy invites you to experience the journey of the Whale Rider as you work through the shawl.

As a descendant of Paikea, Francoise created this shawl in honour of the Whale Rider legend and as a contribution to the Maori arts.

These multi skein kits provide enough yarn for the full shawl, and are inspired by the sample shown here.
